The Nigeria international endured a frustrating LaLiga night as Atletico fell 1-0 at the Metropolitano Stadium on Sunday, marking an underwhelming home debut for the winger.
It was also Diego Simeone’s side’s first league defeat at home this season, ending their strong run in front of their supporters.
Brazilian forward Antony netted the decisive goal in the 28th minute, giving Betis an advantage Atletico ultimately failed to overturn.
Lookman thought he had made the night memorable with a goal of his own, but his effort was ruled out for offside after review.
Despite the setback, the winger remained upbeat and took to social media to reflect on the occasion.
