EPL: Wayne Rooney names top team that could be relegated

Former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur are currently embroiled in a relegation battle.

Speaking on BBC Sport on Monday, Rooney expressed concern over Spurs’ poor form, warning that continued struggles could put them in danger.

Thomas Frank’s side suffered another disappointing outing last weekend, losing 2-0 to Manchester United. They now sit 15th in the Premier League table, just six points above the relegation zone.

“You’d have to say they are [in a relegation battle] with their current form,” Rooney said. “West Ham have been in form, Nottingham Forest pick up results here and there. I think they (Tottenham) will definitely be looking over their shoulders.”
